Our Mission:

Girls Count provides math educational services to girls aged 7+ which includes hands-on summer camps and workshops.

The specific objectives and purpose of this organization are:

  1. to provide math activities that help to support girls in math education;

  2. to enhance math learning for girls by serving as role models, educators, and a resource that will engage students in their learning objectives;

  3. to offer programs that are accessible to all families regardless of income.

Board Member Requirements:

  • Duty of Care — Each board member has a legal responsibility to participate actively in making decisions on behalf of the organization and to exercise his or her best judgment while doing so.

  • Duty of Loyalty — Each board member must put the interests of the organization before their personal and professional interests when acting on behalf of the organization in a decision-making capacity. The organization’s needs come first.

  • Duty of Obedience — Board members bear the legal responsibility of ensuring that the organization complies with the applicable federal, state, and local laws and adheres to its mission.

  • The term of office for each member of the Board of Directors shall be one (1) year with a maximum of five (5) terms. A Director shall only be reelected by a majority vote and each term may be served consecutively.

  • Attend at least three-fourths (3/4) regular meetings of the Board per year.

  • Each year, without having to be asked, make a personal financial contribution at a level that is meaningful to you.

  • Come prepared to discuss the issues and business on the agenda for meetings.

  • Promote Girls Count events, news, and volunteer opportunities to your network including social media.

  • Actively participate in one or more promotional activities.
